A weekend for the whole crew
Big Ridge Family Camp is a private gathering on Lake Norris for friends, families, kids, big kids, and extended friend groups to play outside, eat together, and enjoy a relaxed camp-style weekend. We're aiming to make it an annual tradition.

The vibe
Camp energy, grown-up logistics
Think summer camp, but with friends, family, shared meals, kids riding bikes around campus, adults catching up by the lake, lawn games in the afternoon, and a dance party once everyone has had enough wholesome fresh air.
This is not a formal program or a packed itinerary. Come stay, help out where you can, join the activities you like, skip the ones you do not, and make the weekend feel like ours.
Lodging + meals
Simple options, easy planning
Lodging and meals are handled separately. Cabins are reserved as a group, camping is booked independently, and the optional meal plan is the easiest way to stay fed and connected all weekend.
Cabins
There are 19 cabins available. Cabins sleep 6–8, though most groups will probably use them for 3–5 people for comfort.
Some groups may coordinate 2–3 families across 2–3 cabins, for example adults in one cabin and kids in another.
Tent / RV Camping
Prefer your own setup? Tent and RV camping are available separately. Camping should be booked directly by your household or group, so there is no camping cost collected through us.

Activities
Pick your own camp adventure
There will be enough structure to find the fun and enough looseness to do absolutely nothing for a while.
Cornhole and KanJam can make the trip. Volunteers are welcome to help organize other games or casual group activities.
Bikes + Rides
Bring bikes if you have them. They are useful for kids and adults getting around campus, especially between cabins, meals, lake time, and activities.
There is only one small mountain biking trail onsite, but there are other drive-to options about 30–45 minutes away. There may be an A-pace ride Saturday and a B-pace ride Sunday, depending on interest and volunteer leaders.
No whitewater rafting this weekend.
Help Make It Fun
This works because people pitch in. Small, useful contributions are perfect.
- Lead a bike ride
- Organize lawn games
- DJ or help with a dance party
- Help with group activities
- Bring useful camp-weekend gear
Music
Help build the weekend soundtrack
The RSVP form will ask for two songs:
Big Ridge Chill Vibes
Your favorite lake chill song. Porch-coffee, golden-hour, watching-kids-skip-rocks energy.
Big Ridge Dance Party
Your favorite dance party song. Choose wisely. Or do not. That is also part of the charm.
